Security Update Bug Fixed

It appears that the issues introduced with Security Update 2012-001 for Snow Leopard have been addressed by way of a version 1.1 of the update. CNET News announced the fix, and Macworld readers have been posting their successful results. The earlier update "broke" Rosetta, the built-in code translator that allows PowerPC-based apps to run on Intel hardware. The new update is available from Software Update under the Apple menu, but has not been posted on Apple's support downloads page. CNET reporter Topher Kessler comments "The update can be applied over the existing security update, but is a replacement for the original security update so if you have not already installed it then you can do so with this latest version and avoid the Rosetta bugs altogether."
